Our Story
The Cornerstone Stud story is one of family, planning, passion and success.
Colin Hayes AM. O.B.E started training horses in 1947 and by 1965 had purchased the historic Lindsay Park property in the rolling hills of Angaston. An ideal environment for people and horses Lindsay Park grew to become one of the most respected training and breeding bases in the world.
Five decades on, Sam Hayes, Colin’s grandson, is at the helm of the stud business, today known as Cornerstone Stud. Sam and his team’s passion is breeding star racehorses and helping clients realise their bloodstock dreams, be that breeding a winner or selling a top priced yearling.
The Barossa Valley is not only a great place for horses, it’s a great place to visit. Home to many world class wines and gourmet producers, there is an abundance of cellar doors, restaurants and shops to experience.
Investing alongside, our clients the Cornerstone Stud team have established a quality stallion roster and broodmare band. Cornerstone Stud’s agistment services are superb for spelling racehorses and breeding stock.
