Sam Hayes

Managing Director

Following five years in the wine industry Sam returned to Lindsay Park in 2001. After working for David Hayes in Sales & Marketing, he assumed the role of Managing Director of what was previously known as Lindsay Park Stud in 2005. In 2008 Sam purchased the Lindsay Park Stud business from David Hayes, which paved the way for the name change to Cornerstone Stud in May 2011.

Sam Pritchard-Gordon

Sam came to Cornerstone Stud in 2019 with an abundance of experience managing bloodstock. After starting at Arrowfield Stud, Sam moved into some of Australia’s premier racing stables before fine-tuning his horsemanship as a trainer in his own right.

Ross Fuller

Stud Manager

Ross Fuller joined Cornerstone Stud in November 2020.

A 1990 graduate in Equine Management & Science from Oxfordshire College, Ross entered the workforce under Dick Fowlston’s guidance at Britton House Stud before returning to the family farm in Zimbabwe, prior to its subsequent aquisition and Ross’s eviction by the Government in 2002. Thankfully, an employement opportunity to manager Wilgerbosdrift Stud Farm for Mary Slack arose and then in 2004, Ross was approached by Mrs Rupert to develop a stud farm in the Western Cape at Franschoek, South Africa. Fast forward 15 years and Drakenstein Stud carries world wide recognition as the unrivalled nursery of Champions, with 6 resident stallions, 100 plus staff and a set of skyblue racing silks that breed and race champions with consumate ease with each passing season.

Ross and Carla’s employement at Cornerstone Stud is wonderful opportunity for our clients to utilise the most robust skillset with a proven track record of success.
