While star Tasmanian galloper The Inevitable was expected to win the $125,000 Listed Conquering Stakes (1400m) at Launceston on Wednesday evening, but the eight year-old son of Dundeel couldn’t overhaul 25-1 shot Indispensable, becoming the 11 indisvisdual stakes performer for the Cornerstone Stud based Akeed Mofeed.
Having his second run in Tasmania for new trainer John Blacker, the seven year-old gelding ruined the party for crowd favourite The Inevitable scoring by more than two lengths to take his overall record to nine wins and 17 placings from 46 starts with prizemoney topping $446,000.

Led by the G3 winner The Amazonian, Hong Kong Derby winner Akeed Mofeed is the sire of four stakes performers.
The result of the Conquering Stakes was a one-two for Cornerstone Stud, not only standing the sire of the winner, but having sold the runner-up The Inevitable at the Magic Millions Adelaide yearling sale.
