Harry, Sam & Sam
I hope you have all had a great start to 2022.
We are looking forward to 2022 after a fantastic start to the yearling sale season on the Gold Coast. We were all hoping to catch COVID early in the New Year and Queensland delivered that in spades with every member of the Cornerstone Stud team coming home with the “sniffles”.
We also brought home the bacon after selling the top priced Harry Angel colt for $400,000 through the draft of Cannon Hayes. Owned by Cornerstone Stud and long-standing clients Tony Kynaston, Johannes Risseeuw, Charlie Arthur and Jon Gerschwitz it was a great thrill to capitalise on a strong market.
We are very lucky to have a fantastic team here on the farm led by Sam Pritchard-Gordon and Ross Fuller (Stud Manager). As of this week Sam PG has stepped up into the role of General Manager, which means he will be running the stud business day to day going forward.
My role will move to Executive Director. Emily and I will continue to own the business with our great friends and partners John and Tracey Frankhuisen.
These changes have given me the time to pursue some extra opportunities in 2022 and we are excited to announce that, as of this week, we have launched TOOP+TOOP RURAL. We have partnered with Gen Toop and Bronte Manuel, who own the No.1 real estate business in Adelaide.
Our focus is on high-end rural properties largely here in SA, however we will also have capacity to list properties interstate going forward.
Owning and running TOOP+TOOP RURAL gives me the flexibility to step in and out of the horse business as I see fit. I will be at all the horse sales and always on the phone so look forward to staying in touch with everyone as we embark on this complementary adventure.
I would like to congratulate Sam PG on the promotion and thank all our clients and friends for their ongoing support.
