A Magic result for Cornerstone and Clients

With every indices of the recently completed Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale pointing towards happiness, it was nice for Cornerstone to help lead the drum beat with a notable success of their own.

Consigned by Dave Morrisey’s Cannon Hayes Stud, the Cornerstone team and its close friends had to wait until Friday afternoon to see how their son of Harry Angel would be received by the market. The indicators were certainly positive for Lot 830, following a hectic week of numerous viewings and re-inspections and the colt marched into the ring and was swamped with a throng of bids from the outset.

Despite some spirited bidding from Gerald Ryan and Anthony Freedman, it was a showdown duel from $300,000 between Star Thoroughbreds and Matt Laurie with later holding out the strongest with a bold final bid of $400,000.

Not only was the highest price colt by HARRY ANGEL ever sold, it was also a notable success story on the purchase of the mare from the 2020 Godolphin Dispersal on the COVID ravaged Magic Millions Breeding Stock Sale. Picked up for a retrospectively cheap $80,000, CAESURA could prove to be a very valuable “Golden Goose” for her owners. Not only does has she produces a “top draw” type from her first foal, she also stems from the sought after EIGHT CARAT family and should prove to be valuable producer in years to come.

Cornerstone’s other sale on the Gold Coast was a PIERRO filly for $100,000 to the progressive and exciting Clarken Stable and although this was not a monsterous profit, the sale provided Cornerstone with a “free mare” given she was picked up the same price in 2020.

We are hopeful that the above story highlights Cornerstone’s commitment to involve clients join them on a profitable journey to help them realise their Bloodstock Dreams. Please feel free to contact our office to discuss future broodmare partnerships.
