Royal Ascot Success for Sir Prancealot
The William Knight trained SIR BUSKER delivered SIR PRANCEALOT with another notable victor on Wednesday night in the Royal Hunt Cup at Royal Ascot.
A delightful ride by Oisin Murphy had him weaving the son of SIR PRANCEALOT between tiring horses in the closing stages of the Royal Hunt Cup (under Handicap conditions) to land the coveted prize by comfortable margin on the line. Carrying the top weight of 61.6kg (136lb), the victory further emphasised this remarkable stallion’s ability to produces racehorses that don’t fit into a Pidgeon-hole!
SIR PRANCEALOT raced 6 times at two, winning on three occasions over the 1000m distance. He was obviously precocious, but there is now no doubt that he is imparting durability into his stock. For example, SIR BUSKER raced 5 times at two years of age, but now as a 4yo and with 5 victories to his name from 16 runs, it is clearly evident that time and 1600m has clearly eeked the best out of this talented galloper.
Like his Group 2 Goodwood winner SIR DANCEALOT and his Grade 1 placed MADAM DANCEALOT, SIR BUSKER is out of a DANEHILL line mare called STREET KITTY by TIGER HILL. In fact, such is the pre-potency of SIR PRANCEALOT, all of his 16 stakes performers have arisen out of Non-Blacktype winning dams and this stallion has THE MOST REMARKABLE affinity with DANEHILL.
So it has to beg the question of how are you, as an Australian breeder, going to capitalise on a Stallion that is proving his superiority on the international stage and will invariably replicate that on the local one?
Surely the $9,900 on offer is too good to refuse…….However, if you quote “SIR BUSKER” on booking in a nomination before July 1st, Sam Hayes will discount that service to $7,700.
